In a recent court filing, attorneys for former FTX Engineering Director Nishad Singh have requested that the judge consider sparing him a prison sentence. The submission, filed on October 16 with the US Southern District of New York, portrays Singh as an exceptionally altruistic individual, supported by over 100 letters from his family, friends, and former colleagues. The document highlights that Singh's role in the FTX collapse was relatively limited and that he cooperated fully with authorities after the company's bankruptcy announcement. Notably, his early testimony proved instrumental in bringing key figures to justice.

Having pleaded guilty to six charges, including fraud and conspiracy in February 2023, Singh testified against his former boss, Sam Bankman-Fried, in a trial last October. With his sentencing scheduled for October 30, Singh's case follows those of other high-profile figures involved in the FTX collapse, including Sam Bankman-Fried, who received a 25-year prison sentence, and Caroline Ellison, who was sentenced to two years.
