The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, is set to make his mark on the Bitcoin network with a one-of-a-kind digital art collection. The 'Elvis Side $Btc' collection, comprising 1,935 generative images inspired by the work of licensed Elvis artist Joe Petruccio, will be minted by Royalty, a Bitcoin-focused intellectual property project, in collaboration with OrdinalsBot, a leading inscription service. This collection is expected to be among the first to be minted when OrdinalsBot's marketplace launches later this year. The Ordinals protocol enables the inscription of data onto individual satoshis, the smallest unit of bitcoin, effectively creating unique digital assets similar to non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the Ethereum network.
OrdinalsBot has played a significant role in the Bitcoin development sector, responsible for minting some of the largest files on the Bitcoin network, including the massive 'four meggers,' which are inscriptions nearing the 4 MB block size limit. According to Ordinals co-founder Toby Lewis, these large inscriptions offer unparalleled visibility within the Bitcoin network, comparable to having a billboard in Times Square. The new Elvis-themed series, however, will consist of standard inscriptions. Royalty is planning to release a litepaper that outlines its plan to allocate 5% of both primary and secondary sales revenue to the Elvis Legacy Council, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) dedicated to managing Elvis' digital legacy through a native token.
