In a recent court submission, government lawyers have requested that the judge consider Nishad Singh's 'substantial assistance' and 'exemplary cooperation' in the investigation into FTX. According to the document, Singh approached his cooperation with genuine remorse and a strong desire to help. He assisted the government in understanding how FTX's code allowed for the misuse of customer funds and identified specific transactions by Sam Bankman-Fried involving stolen money. Additionally, Singh brought to the government's attention previously unknown criminal conduct, including a large-scale campaign finance scheme involving Bankman-Fried and Ryan Salame, as well as instances of financial manipulation by Bankman-Fried.

Singh pleaded guilty to six criminal charges, including fraud and conspiracy, in February 2023. His lawyers have since requested that he be spared prison time, citing his limited role at FTX and his cooperation with authorities. Singh, along with former FTX chief technology officer Gary Wang, is awaiting sentencing.

Meanwhile, Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison in March, while Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of Alameda Research, received a two-year sentence last month. Ryan Salame, the CEO of FTX Digital Markets, began a 7.5-year prison sentence this month after pleading guilty to charges related to operating an unlicensed money transmitter and conspiring to defraud the Federal Election Commission.
