As global regulators intensify their focus on the role of staking in digital assets, the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI) has absorbed the Proof of Stake Alliance (POSA), a move that underscores the growing importance of staking in the digital economy. With hundreds of billions of dollars at stake, this integration is poised to shape the future of digital assets. Alison Mangiero, Executive Director of POSA, will continue to lead the project under the CCI umbrella, hailing the move as a significant step forward.
POSA's membership, which includes prominent crypto firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, Ava Labs, and Paradigm, has been advocating for proof-of-stake ecosystems, including those used by Ethereum and Cardano. By combining POSA's technical expertise with CCI's global advocacy capabilities, the two organizations aim to lead the conversation on the future of staking. Sheila Warren, CEO of CCI, emphasized that this union will create an ideal team to drive the discussion on this critical issue. Previously, POSA had been working on establishing industry-driven standards for staking.
As CCI seeks to broaden its influence on global digital asset policy, the organization has also secured partnerships with other advocacy groups, including the Japan Cryptoasset Business Association and the Global Digital Finance in the UK. These collaborations will focus on joint research initiatives, advocacy events, and coordinated responses to government policy efforts.
Furthermore, CCI has appointed Yele Bademosi, co-creator of the Onboard platform, as a new advisor in Africa, marking a significant expansion of its global reach.
