Flare, a layer-1 blockchain, and Red Date Technology, a decentralized cloud infrastructure company, have launched two trials in Hong Kong, allowing Chinese residents to buy stablecoins issued by IDA, a virtual asset company. The trials will enable anonymous registration on a regulated stablecoin app and the purchase of tokenized financial products using the stablecoin. According to the companies, this initiative marks a significant step towards integrating blockchain technology into China's long-term strategy, as it provides mainland Chinese residents with their first opportunity to legally hold public chain wallets and transact with stablecoins, such as the HKDA, a Hong Kong dollar-pegged stablecoin.

Despite China's strict stance on cryptocurrency trading, the country has been investing heavily in blockchain technology, with a focus on B2B and corporate use cases. The trials will utilize the China Real-Name Decentralized Identifier System (RealDID) for anonymous registration, allowing users to remain anonymous to companies and platforms while still meeting real-name compliance requirements under Chinese law.

This will enable users to access stablecoins and other token-based financial products in Hong Kong without needing to submit identification documents.
