The Ethereum Foundation, responsible for overseeing the development of the second-largest blockchain, has released its highly anticipated financial report, revealing a treasury of $970.2 million as of October 31. This figure represents a 39% decrease from the $1.6 billion reported on March 31, 2022. The foundation's treasury is predominantly composed of cryptocurrency, with $788.7 million (81.3%) held in ether and the remaining $181.5 million in non-crypto investments. The report highlights the foundation's long-term perspective on Ethereum's potential and its commitment to conservative treasury management to ensure sufficient resources for the ecosystem.
Since the last financial snapshot in March 2022, the foundation has spent $105.4 million in 2022 and $134.9 million in the following year. Additionally, the foundation has introduced a new conflict-of-interest policy, requiring researchers and developers to disclose any external work or investments exceeding $25,000 annually.
