The Morpheus project, a blockchain-based endeavor to decentralize artificial intelligence, has officially gone live, as announced by its development team on Monday via X, formerly known as Twitter. Similar to other decentralized AI platforms, Morpheus strives to counteract the negative aspects of AI, such as centralized governance, censorship, and the monopolization of data. The launch marks a significant milestone towards achieving decentralized AI computing. Notable projects in the decentralized AI space include Bittensor, dAIOS, and the Boltzmann Network.
Recently, Morpheus became a member of the Decentralized AI Society, an organization dedicated to combating the dominance of tech giants in the AI data landscape. Built upon the Lumerin protocol, which operates on the Arbitrum blockchain - a layer-2 network running on Ethereum, the largest smart contract platform - Morpheus transitioned from a public testnet to mainnet. Initially launched on a testnet in July, Morpheus promises to deliver personal AIs, or 'smart agents,' designed to empower individuals, much like personal computers and search engines have in the past. These agents are capable of executing smart contracts, connecting to Web3 wallets, DApps, and smart contracts, thereby enhancing user capabilities.
