According to Trung Nguyen, the company's co-founder and CEO, this move is not a response to financial difficulties but rather a deliberate decision to streamline operations and position the company for accelerated growth in 2025 and beyond. Despite experiencing a year of substantial growth and development, Sky Mavis has chosen to focus on its core offerings, including the Ronin Wallet, Waypoint, Mavis Marketplace, Axie Infinity, and web3 game publishing, as well as expanding the Ronin Network. The company is also working on a new Axie game. This decision follows a trend of layoffs in the crypto industry, with companies like Kraken, DYDX, and Consensys announcing significant staff reductions in recent weeks.
