Boerse Stuttgart Digital, a subsidiary of the Boerse Stuttgart stock exchange, has been awarded a crypto asset service provider license by the German financial regulator BaFin, enabling it to operate under the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets regulations. The company, which runs a brokerage and exchange, plans to utilize this license to enhance its services for financial institutions across Europe, according to Matthias Voelkel, CEO of the Boerse Stuttgart Group. The MiCA license allows crypto asset service providers to operate across all 27 EU nations, eliminating the need for separate licenses in each country. 'The swift issuance of the MiCA license enhances Germany's competitiveness in the European crypto market,' said Oliver Vins, Boerse Stuttgart Digital's chief finance and regulatory officer.
Germany implemented the necessary legislation to enforce MiCA just before the year-end deadline, despite political turmoil. Boerse Stuttgart Digital joins other companies like MoonPay, BitStaete, ZBD, and Hidden Road, which received their licenses from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets in December.
