The US Senate Banking Committee has finalized the lineup for its new digital assets subcommittee, with Senator Cynthia Lummis at the helm. The panel also includes two members who received significant support from the crypto-focused political action committee Fairshake during the 2024 elections. Among the Republicans on the panel is new Senator Bernie Moreno, a blockchain entrepreneur from Ohio, who benefited from $40 million in backing from Fairshake during his campaign.

On the Democratic side, Ranking Senator Ruben Gallego of Arizona, who received $10 million in advertising support from Fairshake, is also a member. This subcommittee is poised to play a crucial role in shaping crypto legislation in the current Congressional session. Following the House of Representatives' lead in passing digital assets bills last year, the Senate Banking Committee, now led by Senator Lummis, is likely to introduce its own bills, building on Lummis' previous legislative efforts.
