Polygon has unveiled the Agglayer Breakout Program, a comprehensive initiative designed to support projects developed on the Agglayer and Polygon proof-of-stake ecosystems, thereby benefiting POL token stakers. This program combines incubation, community-driven funding, and hands-on support from Polygon Labs to facilitate the launch and growth of projects. Successful projects will airdrop between 5% and 15% of their native tokens to POL stakers and connect to the Agglayer network, providing access to a unified user base and enhanced liquidity.
According to Polygon founder Sandeep Nailwa, 'The Agglayer Breakout Program is poised to drive significant ecosystem expansion, presenting opportunities for POL and substantial airdrops for the community as these projects experience rapid growth and increased liquidity on Agglayer.' Agglayer, an aggregation layer, utilizes zero-knowledge proofs to enable a trustless ecosystem, allowing for the development of sophisticated applications, including financial and gaming platforms. The first cohort of the breakout program includes Privado ID, a zero-knowledge-based identity framework, which plans to airdrop 5% of its token supply to POL stakers.
Miden, a zero-knowledge-centric chain, is nearing graduation and will airdrop 10% of its tokens, while a DeFi chain in stealth mode is set to airdrop 15%. These airdrops will increase the utility of POL as more chains are launched, with snapshots for airdrop eligibility commencing next week and stakers able to participate by staking POL as of Wednesday.
