This week's highlights include: Network updates - Solana is set to undergo a significant core upgrade, replacing its technology stack with Alpenglow, a redesigned consensus protocol for improved responsiveness. The new system, unveiled by Anza, a Solana Labs spinout, proposes replacing Proof of History and Tower BFT. Vitalik Buterin has proposed a new design for Ethereum nodes to reduce hardware requirements, aiming for a fully decentralized network. World Network has raised $135 million in a private token sale to venture capital giants a16z and Bain Capital Crypto.
Solana Labs' mobile team is set to launch its Seeker phone on August 4, along with new infrastructure framework and an SKR token for mobile users.
