Solana users can now seamlessly connect to the network using their MetaMask wallet, following the recent announcement that the Solana integration is live. This move enables users to conduct transactions and interact with Solana-based applications directly through the wallet. According to the announcement, managing multiple wallets is no longer a hassle, as the latest MetaMask Extension allows native Solana use alongside Ethereum accounts within a unified interface. Although the integration is currently limited to desktop, it is expected to be rolled out on the MetaMask mobile app soon.
As the most widely used browser wallet on the Ethereum network with over 100 million annual users, MetaMask has already supported other networks. However, the Solana integration marks the first time a non-EVM network has been incorporated, paving the way for future integrations of other non-EVM networks.
