The BPX Exchange, a platform specializing in tokenization, has been successfully added to the UK's crypto register, marking the first new entry since April and only the third addition this year, as indicated on the Financial Conduct Authority's website. As a result, the company, which operates a digital securities exchange for investment funds, is now permitted to offer its services to clients within the country and approve promotional activities for its affiliated group members, as stated on the regulator's website.

However, it is not authorized to operate a cryptocurrency exchange or provide services to retail clients. To operate in the UK, digital asset firms must register with the FCA and adhere to its anti-money laundering and promotional regulations, which prevent unauthorized firms from accessing UK clients. A total of 52 firms have received approval since 2020, including notable additions such as Coinbase and BlackRock. The UK has been actively working to establish itself as a hub for cryptocurrency since 2022, introducing new legislation and consulting with industry firms to develop rules for the sector.

Furthermore, the current government aims to position the country as a hub for tokenization, a process where companies create virtual investment vehicles on the blockchain that are linked to real-world assets, such as securities.
