Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was initially set to perform at a 'get out the vote' event in Jersey City, organized by Stand With Crypto, to mobilize crypto enthusiasts ahead of New Jersey's gubernatorial primary election. However, following a court ruling that found him liable for sexual battery and assault, he has been removed from the event lineup.
The rally, scheduled for June 5, aims to bring together New Jersey's crypto community and demonstrate the political influence of crypto voters. Despite Soulja Boy's removal, 070 Shake will still perform at the event. The decision to remove Soulja Boy was made after it was discovered that he was ordered to pay $4 million to a former assistant, following a lawsuit that began in 2021. Stand With Crypto stated that they were unaware of the recent developments and have since removed him from the event.
The organization remains focused on mobilizing crypto supporters and promoting clear and sensible crypto policies for New Jersey voters.
