Democrat Jamie Raskin, a senior member of the House of Representatives and ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, has joined the growing list of lawmakers seeking transparency about President Donald Trump's recent private dinner with major investors in his memecoin. Raskin's inquiry, addressed directly to Trump, requests the disclosure of the guest list and information on the sources of funding used by attendees to purchase $TRUMP coins, amid concerns over potential foreign government emoluments. This move is part of a broader effort by Democrats to scrutinize the event, which they allege is indicative of corruption within the White House.

Raskin's demands, however, are unlikely to prompt immediate congressional action due to his party's minority status. In a letter to the president, Raskin emphasized the need for transparency, stating, 'The public has a right to know who is buying access to the president and whether the funds received are legitimate and lawful, rather than proceeds from foreign governments, monarchs, or illicit activities.' His concerns were partly prompted by the attendance of Tron founder Justin Sun, a significant early investor in the Trump family's cryptocurrency ventures.

Raskin's actions are in line with those of Senators Elizabeth Warren, Chris Murphy, and Richard Blumenthal, who have also sought information about the dinner.
