Securitize, a real-world asset platform, has enhanced its tokenized private credit fund in collaboration with Hamilton Lane, a leading investment firm managing $956 billion in assets. This upgrade expands the fund's reach across multiple blockchain networks and introduces features tailored for decentralized finance (DeFi) users. Initially launched on Polygon in 2023, the Hamilton Lane Senior Credit Opportunities (SCOPE) Fund is now accessible on Ethereum and Optimism, leveraging blockchain interoperability enabled by a specialized protocol. This development allows investors to seamlessly transfer fund units between chains, thereby increasing participation and liquidity within various DeFi ecosystems.

Furthermore, Securitize has integrated daily net asset value (NAV) pricing through RedStone oracles and has made the fund instantly accessible via its investor portal. Investors can choose between two redemption options: on-demand through a built-in liquidity pool capped at 5% of the fund's NAV or through scheduled monthly withdrawals. A significant addition is the introduction of the new sSCOPE token, specifically designed for regulated DeFi composability.

This token enables holders to utilize the asset in on-chain lending platforms or liquidity pools, subject to future integrations. Earlier this year, the Apollo Diversified Credit Securitize Fund (ACRED) underwent a similar enhancement, with the development of leveraged DeFi strategies centered around it.

This update coincides with the tokenized real-world asset (RWA) market surpassing $25 billion, with private credit accounting for $14 billion of this total, according to data from RWA.xyz. As a prominent participant in this sector, Securitize has issued nearly $4 billion in tokenized assets to date, including BlackRock's digital money market fund BUIDL.

A recent report by S&P highlighted the potential of tokenization and private credit to revolutionize capital markets in the coming years, a trend that the Hamilton Lane fund aims to capitalize on. "DeFi can actually make an existing offering better while maintaining compliance. That's a game changer," stated Victor Jung, Head of Digital Assets at Hamilton Lane, in an interview with CoinDesk.
