The Jito Foundation has unveiled the Block Assembly Marketplace (BAM), a novel system aimed at transforming the way blocks are constructed and transactions are sequenced on the Solana blockchain. According to a press release, BAM is intended to make transaction sequencing transparent and verifiable, while enabling programmable innovation at the blockspace layer, creating new revenue streams for developers and mitigating the adverse effects of Maximal Extractable Value (MEV). Building on Jito's existing infrastructure, including its widely adopted validator client and the Jito Block Engine, BAM utilizes Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to simulate and rank transaction bundles without exposing sensitive data, thereby protecting private strategies while allowing validators to verify outcomes.

The system features a modular architecture comprising three key components: BAM Nodes, which are specialized schedulers that organize transactions using secure hardware; BAM Validators, which execute ordered transactions on-chain; and Plugins, offering developers a programmable interface to interact with the scheduler and enabling customized transaction logic. This innovation is set to launch on mainnet in the coming weeks, with an initial set of validators led by prominent Solana ecosystem players. "BAM unlocks a new design space for developers, providing more control, new revenue streams, and laying the groundwork for a more dynamic blockspace economy on Solana," said Lucas Bruder, CEO of Jito Labs.
