The newly established Crypto Task Force of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is set to launch a nationwide tour, starting this month, to engage with fledgling crypto startups and broaden the scope of voices in cryptocurrency policy development. Under the leadership of Commissioner Hester Peirce, the task force intends to visit 10 cities between August and December, as announced in a recent press release. The primary focus of these sessions will be on crypto-related ventures with fewer than 10 employees and less than two years of operation, with meetings scheduled in cities such as Berkeley, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, and New York.

According to Peirce, the goal is to engage with individuals who were unable to participate in the roundtable discussions held in Washington, D.C. earlier in the spring. The Crypto Task Force recognizes the profound impact of any regulatory framework on the industry and is committed to ensuring that its outreach efforts are as comprehensive as possible. Launched in January under the stewardship of acting SEC Chair Mark Uyeda, the Crypto Task Force aims to establish clearer guidelines for the cryptocurrency sector.
