Less than a year after its inception, the T3 Financial Crime Unit, a collaborative effort between Tron, Tether, and TRM Labs, has successfully frozen over $250 million in assets linked to illicit activities. According to Paolo Ardoino, Tether's CEO, this accomplishment demonstrates the potential of industry cooperation in achieving a common objective. Since its formation in September 2024, T3 has collaborated with law enforcement agencies across five continents to target funds associated with various crimes, including money laundering, scams, and terrorism financing. The unit has monitored transactions exceeding $3 billion and facilitated several high-profile seizures, including those related to European organized crime networks and 'pig butchering' scams.

The achievement coincides with the launch of 'T3+', a public-private partnership program designed to expedite cross-border investigations by engaging exchanges, financial institutions, and other stakeholders in real-time enforcement efforts. Binance is the program's inaugural member, having already worked with T3 to freeze nearly $6 million connected to a 'pig butchering' scam.

The expansion of partnerships through T3+ is expected to enhance real-time monitoring and intervention across the global cryptocurrency ecosystem.
