Cryptocurrency Ranks Low on US Voters' Priority List Ahead of Elections, Survey Reveals
As the US midterm elections approach, a survey conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of CoinDesk found that voters have placed cryptocurrencies near the bottom of their list of priorities. The survey, which polled 1,000 randomly selected registered voters, revealed that just 1% of respondents ranked crypto as their top concern. Although the survey showed a wider view of the technology as an important political issue, the industry's vested interest in the election outcome remains significant. The market structure bill, a key piece of legislation for the crypto industry, is still pending and faces several hurdles before it can become law. Meanwhile, the industry has dedicated substantial funds to support friendly candidates in the upcoming election. The survey also found that Americans generally hold unfavorable views of cryptocurrencies, with 27% of participants saying they had invested, traded, or used a cryptocurrency, while another 27% said they might do so in the future. The survey's findings suggest that while crypto may not be a top priority for voters, it remains an important issue in the US political landscape.
