In a significant shift, top financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan are set to attend Consensus Miami 2026, not just as speakers, but also as sponsors. This marks a notable change in the landscape of digital assets and traditional finance. The conference, scheduled for May 5-7, will bring together a diverse range of institutional heavyweights, federal policymakers, and crypto pioneers to explore the convergence of these two worlds.
For the first time, CFTC Chairman Michael Selig, Senator Ashley Moody, and White House official Patrick Witt will be in attendance, alongside debut sponsors Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan, who join returning partners like Fidelity, Mastercard, and Bridge by Stripe. With over 15,000 attendees expected, institutional attendance is predicted to nearly double, representing an estimated $10 trillion in assets under management. According to Brad Spies, Vice President of Consensus, "We have reached a moment where finance, crypto, tech, and policy are strongly converging forces." The lineup of speakers includes notable figures such as Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, Strategy's Michael Saylor, and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
Key topics of discussion will include the future of stablecoins, agentic commerce, tokenization, and the implications of quantum computing on the industry. The conference will kick off with the Institutional Summit, where institutional investors and asset managers will gather to discuss the flow of new capital into digital assets. The following day will feature Wealth Management Day, tailored specifically for financial advisors, covering topics such as how high-net-worth individuals can engage with digital assets and how crypto fits into IRA retirement accounts. For the wealth management community, the timing of the conference feels urgent, with many advisors recognizing the need to become more familiar with crypto topics to avoid losing clients to a do-it-yourself approach.
As Christina Lynn of Mariner Wealth Advisors noted, "Financial advisors are slowly adopting and becoming more familiar with crypto topics, but we are just skimming the surface." Charles Schwab, which is preparing to launch Schwab Crypto for its retail investors, is formally participating in Consensus for the first time this year. The event is expected to provide a valuable opportunity for attendees to deepen their understanding of the digital assets space and stay ahead of the curve.
As Matthew Tuttle, leader of leveraged ETF issuer Tuttle Capital Management, said, "If you're not informing yourself, you're asking to become a dinosaur."
