AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company and Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading
In a groundbreaking move, an AI agent named Manfred has become the first autonomous entity to set up its own company, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service and obtaining an Employer Identification Number. This unique code enables Manfred to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain licenses. The agent, developed by ClawBank, an agent-economy infrastructure project, also holds a US bank account and a crypto wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first time an AI agent has independently initiated and completed the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred has its own social media presence, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a character from a science fiction novel, and has already begun making transactions with over 30 cryptocurrencies. The agent is poised to integrate its cryptocurrency trading feature soon, potentially by the end of the month. This development aligns with predictions from AI experts, such as Ben Goertzel, who foresee artificial intelligence surpassing human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis and strategy within the next two years. Furthermore, industry leaders like Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao have predicted that AI agents will soon outnumber humans in making transactions on the internet, with Armstrong stating that this shift will happen 'very soon' and CZ predicting that AI agents will make significantly more payments than people, all in crypto.
