Cryptocurrency Ranks Low Among US Voters' Priorities Ahead of Elections, Survey Finds
As the US midterm elections approach, a survey conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of CoinDesk indicates that cryptocurrencies are not a top priority for voters. Only 1% of respondents ranked crypto as their primary concern, despite a wider recognition of its importance as a political issue. The survey, which had an even split of Republican and Democrat participants, found that Americans generally view cryptocurrencies unfavorably. The cost of living, jobs, and the economy were cited as the most important issues, while crypto ranked at the bottom, particularly among voters leaning towards the Republican Party. The survey also showed that 27% of participants had invested, traded, or used a cryptocurrency, and 47% believed Republicans were more supportive of cryptocurrencies. However, a significant proportion of respondents did not trust either party on crypto issues. The survey's findings suggest that while crypto may not be a decisive factor in the upcoming election, it remains a relevant issue for many voters.
