Cryptocurrency Ranks Low on US Voters' List of Priorities Ahead of Elections, Survey Reveals

In the lead-up to the US midterm elections, voters have placed cryptocurrency near the bottom of their list of priorities. According to a survey conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of CoinDesk, only 1% of respondents considered crypto their top concern. The survey, which had an even split of Republican and Democrat respondents, found that while crypto may not be a key issue for voters, the industry is still heavily invested in the outcome of the election. The market structure bill, a crucial piece of legislation for the crypto industry, is still pending, and other bills, including tax reform, are expected to be introduced in the coming months. The crypto industry has dedicated significant funds to support friendly candidates, following its status as the largest donor industry in the 2024 election. The survey also revealed that voters' views on crypto are largely unfavorable, with 25% of base Democrats and 58% of Democrat-leaning voters holding a negative view. However, when asked about the importance of crypto in the 2026 election, 22% of respondents considered it an important issue, indicating a higher level of awareness than in previous years.
