US Voters Lack Confidence in Trump Administration's Oversight of Crypto Sector
A survey conducted by CoinDesk reveals that the majority of US voters, approximately 62%, do not trust the Trump administration to oversee the crypto sector. This lack of trust comes despite the administration's efforts to create a favorable regulatory environment for the industry, including the appointment of a crypto czar and the introduction of legislation aimed at supporting the sector. However, the poll also shows that almost half of the respondents are aware of the president's personal stake in the crypto industry, which has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest. The survey found that 73% of the public opposes government officials having personal business dealings in the industry, with 59% of Republican voters also expressing disapproval. The results suggest that the president's broader popularity and approval rating, currently at 40%, may be influencing public perception of his administration's ability to effectively oversee the crypto sector. The poll's findings are part of a larger series by CoinDesk examining voter views ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
