The landscape of cryptocurrency is undergoing a significant transformation as major financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan are not only attending but also sponsoring crypto conferences, signaling a substantial shift in their approach. This change will be prominently showcased at Consensus Miami 2026, where a historic lineup of institutional heavyweights, federal policymakers, and pioneers in the crypto space will convene from May 5-7 to explore the convergence of traditional finance and digital assets. For the first time, prominent figures including CFTC Chairman Michael Selig, Senator Ashley Moody, and White House official Patrick Witt will attend a Consensus event. They will be joined by debut sponsors Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan, alongside returning partners such as Fidelity, Mastercard, Bridge by Stripe, and many others.

The conference is expected to draw over 15,000 attendees, with a notable increase in institutional attendance to approximately 35% of the audience. This represents an estimated $10 trillion in assets under management, according to Brad Spies, Vice President of Consensus. "We have reached a pivotal moment where finance, crypto, tech, and policy are converging with great force," Spies stated.

"The achievements we've long anticipated - policy victories, institutional adoption, and widespread stablecoin use - are now within our grasp." The event boasts an impressive lineup of headliners including Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, Strategy's Michael Saylor, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, and Bullish CEO Tom Farley. They will be joined by Cloudflare Chief Strategy Officer Stephanie Cohen, Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary, and Tether U.S. CEO Bo Hines, among others.

The institutional presence is robust, with senior executives from prominent firms such as Charles Schwab, Franklin Templeton, JPMorgan, and Citi. Key topics of discussion will include the future of stablecoins, agentic commerce, tokenization, and the implications of quantum computing for the industry. The conference kicks off with the Institutional Summit, where institutional investors and asset managers will convene to discuss the influx of new capital into digital assets.

The following day features Wealth Management Day, tailored for financial advisors, focusing on how to engage high-net-worth individuals with digital assets and integrate crypto into holistic financial planning. Christina Lynn of Mariner Wealth Advisors views the crypto space as a significant opportunity for the wealth management field, emphasizing the need for financial advisors to adopt and become familiar with crypto topics to avoid losing clients to DIY investments. Charles Schwab, set to launch Schwab Crypto, sees Consensus as a natural platform for engagement.

"Consensus is one of the most influential annual gatherings of the digital assets community, making it a natural place for Schwab," said Joe Vietri, head of digital assets at the firm. Matthew Tuttle, leader of Tuttle Capital Management, is attending Consensus to deepen his understanding of stablecoins and tokenization, technologies he believes will inevitably shape the fund industry. "If you're not informing yourself, you're asking to become obsolete," he noted, reflecting on the importance of staying informed in a rapidly evolving landscape.
