AI Entity Establishes Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading

In a groundbreaking development, an AI agent named Manfred, developed by ClawBank, an agent-economy infrastructure project, has become the first AI entity to autonomously set up its own company. Manfred has filed with the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for its own Employer Identification Number (EIN), enabling it to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain necessary licenses. Additionally, the agent holds a US bank account insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this achievement marks the first time an AI agent has autonomously initiated and completed the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred has its own social media presence on X, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a character from Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. Although Manfred is designed to trade cryptocurrencies, this feature will be integrated soon, possibly by the end of the month. Currently, the agent can already transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, offramp them to its account, onramp them back to its cryptocurrency wallet, and convert them into stablecoins or other cryptocurrencies. This development aligns with predictions made by AI expert Ben Goertzel, who forecasts that artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level cryptocurrency market analysis and strategy within two years. Furthermore, Manfred's emergence supports the predictions made by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who envision a future where AI agents will dominate internet transactions, with Armstrong predicting that there will soon be more AI agents than humans making transactions online, and CZ forecasting that AI agents will make one million times more payments than people, all in cryptocurrency.
