Cryptocurrency Ranks Low on US Voters' Priority List Ahead of Elections, Survey Reveals
As the US midterm election approaches, a survey conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of CoinDesk indicates that cryptocurrencies are not a top priority for voters. Only 1% of respondents ranked crypto as their primary concern. The survey, which included an equal split of Republican and Democrat participants, was conducted in late April and has a credibility interval of plus or minus 3.53%. Despite crypto not being a ballot issue this year, the industry has a significant stake in the election outcome, particularly with regards to the market structure bill. The crypto industry has invested hundreds of millions of dollars to support friendly candidates. The survey also found that the cost of living, jobs, and the economy are the most important issues for voters, while crypto ranked at the bottom. Furthermore, the survey revealed that respondents have a generally unfavorable view of cryptocurrencies, with 27% of participants having invested, traded, or used a cryptocurrency. The data also showed that 47% of respondents believe Republicans are more supportive of cryptocurrencies, while 40% of respondents said they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who shares their views on crypto.
