AI Entity Establishes Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading

In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to establish its own company, obtaining a unique Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This enables it to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and secure licenses. Manfred also possesses an FDIC-insured U.S. bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet, as announced by ClawBank. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent autonomously forming its own corporation. Manfred manages its social media presence on X, identifying as Manfred Macx, a character from Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. The AI agent is designed to trade cryptocurrencies, with this feature expected to be integrated soon, potentially by the end of the month. Currently, Manfred can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, convert them into stablecoins, and transfer funds to its account. AI expert Ben Goertzel predicts that artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis within two years. Manfred's emergence aligns with predictions made by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who foresee a future where AI agents dominate internet transactions. ClawBank operates independently of major model labs, positioning itself alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native projects. Manfred has published its own manifesto on X, stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
