Bitcoin Faces Resistance at $80,000, Analysts Predict Temporary Pullback

Bitcoin is currently trading at $78,762.46, struggling to break through the $80,000 barrier due to concentrated sell orders. Despite this, analysts believe the pullback is temporary and that the cryptocurrency will continue its upward trend. Over the past 24 hours, bitcoin has experienced a minor loss of 0.4%, while other major cryptocurrencies such as Ether and XRP have also seen declines. According to Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, the $80,000 level is acting as a near-term ceiling, but the broader uptrend that began in late March is expected to continue. On-chain and ETF data support this view, with crypto exchange Binance recording a net inflow of roughly $3.4 billion in stablecoins so far this month. Institutional demand also remains strong, with U.S.-listed spot bitcoin ETFs pulling in $2.44 billion in investor money this month. However, security risks in decentralized finance (DeFi) continue to weigh on sentiment, with several high-profile exploits occurring in recent weeks. The total losses from DeFi-related exploits have climbed to roughly $7.72 billion, according to data source DeFiLlama. In traditional markets, WTI crude oil prices continue to hover above $90 per barrel, with Brent above $100, threatening to destabilize the global economy with high inflation.
