Cryptocurrency Ranks Low on US Voters' Priority List Ahead of Elections, Survey Finds

As the US midterm elections approach, a survey conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of CoinDesk has found that cryptocurrencies are not a top priority for voters. Only 1% of respondents ranked crypto as their primary concern, despite the industry's vested interest in the election's outcome. The survey, which polled 1,000 randomly selected registered voters, showed that the cost of living, jobs, and the economy are the most pressing issues for voters. Crypto ranked near the bottom, with artificial intelligence being the only issue with lower priority. The survey also revealed that Americans have a generally unfavorable view of cryptocurrencies, with 60% of respondents disapproving of US President Donald Trump's performance. While 27% of participants had invested, traded, or used a cryptocurrency, the industry's image remains unfavorable, particularly among Democratic-leaning voters. Interestingly, 47% of respondents believed Republicans are more supportive of cryptocurrencies, but a greater proportion of respondents, 40%, said they didn't trust either party. The survey also showed that 49% of participants who were 'much more interested' in this year's election than in the 2022 election owned $1,000 or more worth of crypto. Despite the low priority given to crypto, 22% of respondents considered it an important issue for the 2026 election, indicating a higher awareness of digital assets than in previous years.
