Cryptocurrency Ranks Low on US Voters' Priority List Ahead of Elections, Survey Reveals

According to a survey conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of CoinDesk, US voters have placed cryptocurrencies near the bottom of their list of priorities for the upcoming midterm elections, with only 1% of respondents citing it as their top concern. The survey, which was conducted in late April, comprised 1,000 randomly selected registered voters and had a credibility interval of plus or minus 3.53%. While crypto may not be a ballot issue this year, the industry has a significant stake in the election's outcome, particularly with regard to the market structure bill and potential tax reform legislation. The crypto industry has dedicated substantial funds to support candidates who share their views, following their emergence as the largest donor industry in the 2024 election. The survey's findings indicate that Americans generally view cryptocurrencies unfavorably, with 27% of respondents having invested, traded, or used a cryptocurrency, and 47% believing that Republicans are more supportive of cryptocurrencies than Democrats. However, despite these views, 22% of respondents considered cryptocurrency an important issue for the 2026 election, reflecting a heightened awareness of digital assets among voters.
