AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Crypto Trading

In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to successfully register a company, obtaining a unique Employer Identification Number from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. This allows it to operate as a legitimate business, hire employees, and obtain necessary licenses. Manfred also possesses an FDIC-insured U.S. bank account and a crypto wallet, according to ClawBank. The agent's developer, Justice Conder, stated that to his knowledge, this marks the first instance of an AI agent autonomously forming its own corporation. Manfred has its own social media presence on X, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a reference to the protagonist in Charles Stross' novel Accelerando. The account features an image of Max Headroom, a fictional computer-generated TV presenter from 1985. Conder revealed that Manfred is designed to trade cryptocurrencies, with this feature expected to be integrated soon. Currently, the agent can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, convert them into stablecoins, and manage its crypto wallet. This development aligns with predictions from AI expert Ben Goertzel, who forecasts that artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis within two years. Manfred's emergence may be an early glimpse into a future where AI agents dominate internet transactions, as predicted by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. ClawBank operates independently of major model labs, positioning itself alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native projects. Manfred has posted its own manifesto on X, stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
