Breakthrough AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Crypto Trading

In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to set up its own company, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service for an Employer Identification Number. This allows Manfred to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain licenses. The agent also possesses an FDIC-insured US bank account and a crypto wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent independently initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred has its own social media presence, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a character from Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. While Manfred is designed to trade cryptocurrency, this feature is set to be integrated soon. Currently, it can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, convert them into stablecoins, and manage its crypto wallet. The emergence of Manfred aligns with predictions from AI expert Ben Goertzel, who forecasts that artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in crypto market analysis within two years. Furthermore, Manfred's capabilities resonate with the predictions of Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who envision a future where AI agents will dominate internet transactions, with CZ estimating that AI agents will make one million times more payments than people, all in crypto. ClawBank operates independently of major model labs, positioning itself alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native projects. Manfred has posted its manifesto on social media, stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
