AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading
In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to establish its own company, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service for an Employer Identification Number. This unique code enables Manfred to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain necessary licenses. The agent has also acquired an FDIC-insured US bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent autonomously initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred has its own social media presence, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a character from Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. Although Manfred is designed for cryptocurrency trading, this feature will be integrated soon. Currently, it can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, convert them into stablecoins, and perform other related actions. The emergence of Manfred aligns with predictions from AI expert Ben Goertzel, who believes artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis within two years. Furthermore, Manfred's existence supports the forecasts made by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who envision a future where AI agents will dominate internet transactions. ClawBank operates independently of major model labs, positioning itself alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native projects. Manfred has posted its manifesto on social media, stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
