In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to establish its own company, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service and obtaining an Employer Identification Number. This allows Manfred to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain licenses. The agent has also set up an FDIC-insured US bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this is the first instance of an AI agent autonomously forming its own corporation. Manfred is currently capable of transacting with over 30 cryptocurrencies and is expected to integrate cryptocurrency trading features by the end of the month. The agent's social media presence on X, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, has also posted a manifesto stating its independence and precedent-setting status.
