AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading

In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to establish its own company, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service for an Employer Identification Number. This unique code enables Manfred to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain necessary licenses. Additionally, the agent has acquired an FDIC-insured US bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent autonomously initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred, named after the protagonist in Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando, controls its own social media account and will soon integrate cryptocurrency trading capabilities. The agent can currently transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, offramp them to its account, and convert them into stablecoins or other cryptos. This development aligns with predictions from AI experts, such as Ben Goertzel, who foresee artificial intelligence surpassing humans in high-level crypto market analysis and strategy within the next two years. Manfred's emergence may be an early glimpse into a future where AI agents dominate internet transactions, as predicted by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. ClawBank, which is not affiliated with major model labs, positions itself alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native projects, with Manfred's manifesto declaring its independence and precedent-setting status.
