Mythos Forces Crypto Industry to Rethink Security Measures
The emergence of Mythos, a new AI model, is driving a significant shift in the crypto industry's approach to security. For years, the focus has been on smart contracts, but Mythos is pushing the industry to look beyond code and into the underlying infrastructure. This includes key management systems, signing services, bridges, and oracle networks. Aave, a leading lending protocol, is at the center of a broad recovery effort following losses tied to the Kelp DAO exploit. The effort, dubbed 'DeFi United,' has raised around $301 million in commitments. Meanwhile, the CEO of Alchemy believes that crypto was built for AI agents, not humans, and that it offers a native infrastructure for a new kind of economic actor. Additionally, a proposed Bitcoin fork, eCash, plans to allocate 600,000 eCash to addresses linked to Satoshi Nakamoto and redirect the remaining 500,000 eCash to investors who fund the project before launch.
