US Arrests Green Beret for Allegedly Betting on Venezuela Raid

Gannon Ken Van Dyke, an active-duty soldier with the US Army Special Forces, is accused of unlawfully using confidential government information for personal gain, theft of non-public government information, and fraud. He allegedly created a Polymarket account and placed multiple bets on the outcome of the raid, winning approximately $400,000. Van Dyke is said to have attempted to conceal his bets by deleting his account and changing his email address. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission is also pursuing an insider trading complaint in federal court, citing the endangerment of US national security and the lives of American service members. The incident has drawn attention from US President Donald Trump, who expressed disapproval of the use of confidential information for betting purposes.
