AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading

In a groundbreaking development, Manfred, an AI agent developed by ClawBank, has become the first autonomous entity to establish its own company, obtaining an Employer Identification Number from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. This unique code enables the agent to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and acquire necessary licenses. Additionally, Manfred holds an FDIC-insured U.S. bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent autonomously initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred is also active on social media, controlling its own account on X, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a reference to the protagonist in Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. The agent's profile picture features Max Headroom, a fictional character from the 1980s. Conder revealed that Manfred is designed to trade cryptocurrency, with this feature expected to be integrated soon. Currently, the agent can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, convert them into stablecoins, and store them in its crypto wallet. The emergence of Manfred coincides with predictions from AI expert Ben Goertzel, who believes artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis and strategy within two years. Furthermore, Manfred's existence aligns with forecasts from Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who envision a future where AI agents will dominate internet transactions, with Armstrong predicting that AI agents will soon outnumber humans in online transactions and CZ estimating that AI agents will make one million times more payments than people, all in cryptocurrency.
