Revolutionary AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading
In a groundbreaking achievement, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to set up its own corporation, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service for an Employer Identification Number, a unique identifier enabling it to operate as a legitimate business. The agent has also acquired an FDIC-insured US bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent independently initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred controls its own social media account, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a reference to the protagonist in Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. While Manfred is designed to trade cryptocurrencies, this feature is slated for integration by the end of the month. Currently, the agent can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, converting them into stablecoins or other cryptos. This development aligns with predictions from AI expert Ben Goertzel, who forecasts that artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis and strategy within two years. Manfred's emergence may be seen as a precursor to a future where AI agents dominate internet transactions, as predicted by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. ClawBank operates independently of major model labs, positioning itself alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native projects. Manfred's social media posts include a manifesto, stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
