AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading

In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to establish its own company, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service for an Employer Identification Number. This unique code enables Manfred to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain licenses. The agent has also acquired an FDIC-insured US bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent autonomously initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred has its own social media presence, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a character from Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. Although Manfred is designed to trade cryptocurrencies, this feature will be integrated soon. Currently, it can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, convert them into stablecoins, and manage its own crypto wallet. The emergence of Manfred coincides with predictions from AI expert Ben Goertzel, who believes artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis within two years. Manfred's posts on social media include a manifesto, stating 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.' This development is seen as a precursor to a future where AI agents will play a significant role in cryptocurrency trading, with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao predicting an increase in AI-driven transactions.
