Revolutionary AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Crypto Trading
In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to set up a company, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service for an Employer Identification Number. This allows it to operate as a legitimate business, hire employees, and obtain necessary licenses. Manfred also possesses an FDIC-insured US bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent autonomously initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred has its own social media presence, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a character from Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. The AI agent is designed to trade cryptocurrencies and can currently transact with over 30 digital currencies, converting them into stablecoins or other cryptos. This development aligns with predictions from AI expert Ben Goertzel, who believes artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis and strategy within two years. Manfred's emergence may be an early glimpse into a future where AI agents dominate online transactions, as forecasted by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. ClawBank operates independently of major model labs, positioning itself alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native projects. Manfred has posted its own manifesto on social media, stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
