Revolutionary AI Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading

In a groundbreaking achievement, ClawBank's Manfred AI agent has become the first entity of its kind to autonomously set up a company, registering with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service for an Employer Identification Number. This unique code enables the agent to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain necessary licenses. Additionally, Manfred possesses an FDIC-insured U.S. bank account and a crypto wallet, according to ClawBank. The agent's developer, Justice Conder, stated that to the company's knowledge, this is the first instance of an AI agent autonomously initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred controls its own social media account on X, where it identifies itself as Manfred Macx, a name inspired by the protagonist in Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. The account's photo features the 1985 fictional character Max Headroom, a computer-generated TV presenter. Conder mentioned that Manfred is designed to trade crypto, with this feature expected to be integrated soon, potentially by the end of the month. Currently, the agent can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, offramp them to its account, onramp them back to its crypto wallet, and convert them into stablecoins or other cryptos. AI expert Ben Goertzel, CEO of SingularityNET, recently predicted that artificial intelligence would surpass humans in high-level crypto market analysis and strategy within two years. Goertzel noted that while advanced AI tools can predict short-term bitcoin volatility with high accuracy, humans still excel at long-term strategic thinking. Manfred's emergence could be seen as a glimpse into a future where AI agents dominate internet transactions, as predicted by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. Armstrong forecasted that there will soon be more AI agents than humans making transactions on the internet, while CZ stated that AI agents will make one million times more payments than people, all in crypto. ClawBank is not affiliated with major model labs like Anthropic or OpenAi, with Conder positioning the project alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native initiatives. Manfred's social media posts include its own manifesto, stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
