AI-Powered Entity Establishes Its Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading

In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to set up its own company, registering with the US Internal Revenue Service for an Employer Identification Number. This unique code enables Manfred to operate as a legitimate business, hire staff, and obtain necessary licenses. The agent has also secured an FDIC-insured US bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent autonomously initiating and completing the legal formation of its own corporation. Manfred has its own social media presence, where it identifies as Manfred Macx, a reference to the protagonist in Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. Although Manfred is designed to trade cryptocurrencies, this feature is expected to be integrated by the end of the month. Currently, it can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, offramp them to its account, and onramp them back to its crypto wallet. AI expert Ben Goertzel predicts that artificial intelligence will surpass humans in high-level crypto market analysis and strategy within two years. Manfred's emergence aligns with the predictions of Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who foresee a future where AI agents will dominate internet transactions. ClawBank is positioned alongside the OpenClaw movement and other agent-native projects, with Manfred's manifesto stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
