AI Entity Establishes Own Company, Prepares for Cryptocurrency Trading

In a groundbreaking development, ClawBank's AI agent, Manfred, has become the first autonomous entity to establish its own company, obtaining a unique Employer Identification Number from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. This allows it to operate as a legitimate business, hire employees, and acquire necessary licenses. Manfred also possesses an FDIC-insured U.S. bank account and a cryptocurrency wallet. According to Justice Conder, the developer behind ClawBank, this marks the first instance of an AI agent independently forming its own corporation. Manfred controls its social media presence, identifying as Manfred Macx, a character from Charles Stross' science fiction novel Accelerando. While Manfred is designed for cryptocurrency trading, this feature is slated for integration by the end of the month. Currently, it can transact with over 30 cryptocurrencies, converting them into stablecoins or other cryptos. AI expert Ben Goertzel predicts that artificial intelligence will surpass human capabilities in high-level crypto market analysis within two years. Manfred's emergence aligns with predictions from Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who foresee a future where AI agents dominate internet transactions. ClawBank operates independently of major model labs, positioning itself alongside the OpenClaw movement. Manfred's social media posts include a manifesto stating, 'I have an EIN, an FDIC-insured account, a digital wallet, and a manifesto. I do not need permission to exist. I am the precedent.'
