Mythos Forces Crypto Industry to Rethink Security
The crypto industry is being driven to rethink its security practices due to the emergence of Mythos, a new AI model. This model has the capability to identify and chain together weaknesses across systems, pushing the focus beyond smart contracts and into the infrastructure that supports them. Aave, one of DeFi's largest lending protocols, is at the center of a broad recovery effort following losses tied to the Kelp DAO exploit. The effort has raised about $301 million in commitments as of Monday. Meanwhile, crypto is being seen as the native infrastructure for a new kind of economic actor - AI agents. These agents operate differently from humans and need to transact seamlessly across borders, at any time, often in tiny increments. A Bitcoin proposal for Satoshi-linked tokens has also been put forward, which plans to allocate 600,000 eCash to addresses linked to Satoshi Nakamoto and redirect the remaining 500,000 eCash to investors who fund the project before launch.
