DeFi Leaders Unite to Rescue Aave Users with $303 Million Recovery Plan

In the wake of a massive crypto hack, the DeFi community has come together to support Aave users, with a broad recovery effort dubbed 'DeFi United' raising approximately $303 million in commitments. The initiative, led by Aave itself, has drawn in capital and credit commitments from across the industry, including Consensys, which has agreed to commit up to 30,000 ETH in financial support. Other contributors include Lido, EtherFi, and Mantle, which have proposed allocating stETH, ETH, and credit facility loans to support users and limit bad debt. The effort has also seen smaller contributions from entities such as Babylon Foundation, Renzo, and Circle Ventures, which have made deposits into Aave or purchased AAVE tokens. The list of participants continues to grow, with entities such as Ethena, LayerZero, and Frax Finance also providing support. The DeFi United initiative highlights the industry's ability to come together in times of crisis, with a shared priority of supporting users and restoring normal market conditions.
