Bitcoin Community Outraged Over Proposed eCash Hard Fork and Redistribution of Satoshi Coins
Veteran Bitcoin developer Paul Sztorc has unveiled a proposal for a 2026 hard fork, dubbed eCash, which would create a new blockchain and offer equivalent tokens to existing Bitcoin holders. However, the plan has been met with criticism from the community, particularly with regards to the redistribution of coins associated with Bitcoin's mysterious founder, Satoshi Nakamoto. The proposed hard fork aims to introduce Drivechains, a scaling solution that would enable the creation of sidechains, allowing for greater flexibility and efficiency. Nevertheless, the community remains skeptical, with some experts labeling the plan as 'theft' and expressing concerns over the potential risks and consequences for the entire Bitcoin ecosystem.
